Affiliate Disclosure
We believe in being upfront about how CardLift works and how we're compensated. Here's everything you need to know.
Last updated: March 2026The Short Version
CardLift may earn a commission when you apply for or are approved for a credit card through links on our site. This doesn't change our analysis — our recommendations are based on your actual spending patterns, not on which cards pay us more.
How We Make Money
CardLift participates in affiliate marketing programs with credit card issuers and networks including, but not limited to:
- Commission Junction (CJ Affiliate)
- Impact Radius
- Direct bank and issuer affiliate programs
When you click a "Apply Now" or similar link on CardLift and are approved for a credit card, we may receive a referral commission from the card issuer. The amount varies by card and issuer — we have no control over this.
You pay nothing extra. The commission comes from the bank, not from you. Your card terms, interest rates, and rewards are identical whether you apply through CardLift or directly through the issuer's website.
How This Affects Our Recommendations
CardLift's recommendations are generated algorithmically based on your actual spending data. Our system looks at your transaction history and matches it against each card's rewards structure to calculate your estimated annual earnings.
We do not manually pick or promote cards based on commission rates. The card that earns you the most points for your actual spending pattern will appear first — regardless of what it pays us.
Our business model only works if our recommendations are genuinely useful. If we showed you cards that earn us more but benefit you less, you'd stop using CardLift. That's a worse outcome for us than making a smaller commission on a card that's actually right for you.
What We Analyze vs. What We Recommend
CardLift analyzes your spending statement to calculate your Rewards Efficiency Score and identify optimization opportunities. This analysis is independent of any affiliate relationships.
Card recommendations shown after analysis may include affiliate links. These are clearly associated with "Apply Now" or similar call-to-action language. Not every card we analyze or mention has an affiliate relationship — some are included purely because they're relevant to your spending profile.
FTC Compliance
This disclosure is made in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials, specifically 16 CFR Part 255.
Per FTC guidelines, we are required to clearly and conspicuously disclose any material connection between CardLift and the companies whose products we recommend — including financial compensation. This page fulfills that requirement, and we also include inline disclosures near card recommendation links throughout the site.
Your Data & Recommendations
Your uploaded statement data is used solely to generate your personalized analysis. We do not sell your financial data to card issuers or use it to trigger targeted affiliate campaigns. Card recommendations shown to you are based on your spending patterns — not on which issuers have purchased advertising or paid for placement.
